Sadly these guys were not too hard to identify. I noticed them on one columbine, and then had to go around to all of them clearing them off. They had already stripped one of my smaller Canadian columbines.
Columbine Sawfly or skipper larvae ore often known for eating columbine, but these were sawfly.
