Starting this morning parasitic wasp larvae started crawling out of one of the hornworms, that hornworm went outside since I want to encourage the wasps (but not in the house). It had been looking a little iffy yesterday, probably all the chewing of useful organs going on by the wasps. The other one so far seems clean, still eating and everything. Apparently when the wasps start emerging the hornworm stops eating or moving and just sits there waiting to die.

The Continuing Saga of Tomato Hornworms
Starting this morning parasitic wasp larvae started crawling out of one of the hornworms, that hornworm went outside since I want to encourage the wasps (but not in the house). Tomato Hornworm
The bad news is I found another one. The really bad news is I have them living in a jar and have been feeding them Deadly Nightshade. They're just so interesting looking I couldn't do away with them. Admittedly I don't think I could fit three in the jar, so the next one is probably toast.
