Bearded Iris

So far three different colors of bearded iris have bloomed. This one being a strange purplish red. The bud looked almost black.

I have an iris problem. I like them too much and have a tendency to bite when I see new ones.

Bearded Iris

This one is probably supposed to be 'Color Tart', but since I got it in a bag a few years ago it isn't exactly quality. I do like the colors however. I have 6 different bearded irises and none of them are the varieties they were advertised as being. Since I paid about $5 for each of them I shouldn't complain so much.

First Iris

I like these flowers even more then the crocus. They just appear, with barely any leaves. They weren't up yesterday at all, but today I had open flowers. I can't wait for the others to show themselves. They are one of the easier bulbs to plant, since they are slim and small I remember just pushing them into the dirt and covering them over. They bloom for a few days then disappear until next year. I don't think these were labeled a specific variety, just iris reticulata.
