I see darner dragonflies at eye level very rarely. To give you an idea, this is the first one I saw back in 2007. I've seen 4 perched low enough to photograph since then. They often perch quite high in trees so I'm always impressed when someone shows a photo of one. This is still one of my favorite pictures from my old camera.
